The Fjord Oyster Bank is one of our favorite local restaurants. Located across from the Hood Canal Fish Hatchery in Hoodsport, Washington, just a block off of North Lake Cushman Road as you get into town.

Staircase Rapids is a beautiful 2.1 mile loop hiking trail following the North Fork of the Skokomish River. It winds through old growth forest to a bridge over the North Fork Skokomish River with only a 200-foot elevation gain.
We suggest at about .8 miles, take the trail to the right (do not continue up the much-more-rugged Four Stream Trail), and cross a suspension bridge to the the other side of the river.

Cushman Lake offers a year-round open season. This North Fork Skokomish River impoundment is a natural lake enlarged by a dam.
It does offer kokanee fishing in the summer and good late-season cutthroat fishing. Shoreline access: Good - extenisve access along western shore but best fished by boat.
The Hoodsport Hills Disc Golf Course is a family friendly 9-hole Disc Golf Course. Hours are from dawn to dusk. The course has concrete pads with basket targets and is moderately hilly and heavily wooded.
There is plenty of parking and a restroom and picnic table. Sponsored by the Port of Hoodsport and constructed by Mason County Disc Golf.
